Sonia Ruiz engaged in a
three-month campaign of "sextortion", abuse, threatening and
coercion of her roommate, Leonel Baldizon, a neurologically disabled injured
construction worker, a childhood family friend of hers ten years younger
than the middle-aged Ruiz. Leonel had asked her to leave his apartment
where she was temporarily staying
after Sonia Ruiz's highly inappropriate conduct in the washroom
she shared
with Leonel and his underage nephew. Ruiz responded by claiming tenancy in
Baldizon's apartment, and on September 28, 2024, Sonia Ruiz contrived to have Baldizon
wrongfully arrested and obtained a restraining order against Baldizon
in a failed attempt to force him out of his own apartment that his family
had been leasing for thirty-one years, in Astoria, NY, 11102.
Ruiz was caught on camera
on September 28, 2024 provoking a reaction from
the neurologically disabled Baldizon as she recorded herself on her cell
phone while exposing her breasts and screaming repeatedly "Stop
touching me! Stop touching me!"
Afterwards Sonia Ruiz called the police and can be heard in the surveillance
video acting and wailing false accusations, "He wouldn't stop touching me"
to police officers as she showed them her staged "stop touching me video"
she shot from her point-of-view on her phone.
At the 0:33 point in the video
shot by the victim, Ruiz is seen moving her phone camera down toward her
exposed breasts and up to her "anguished" face as she screams "Stop
touching me!"
making it appear on her camera as if she is being assaulted. This
video, shot from a distance in the opposite direction from her phone video,
shows clearly there is no person touching her or even within touching range.
Mr. Baldizon permitted Sonia Ruiz, as a life-long family friend, to
temporarily take refuge in a room in his apartment in March 2024 pending
Ruiz being evicted from her previous residence on April 2, a penthouse apartment in Kew Gardens,
Queens, for
non-payment of rent and for relentless harassing and threatening of building management
employees and other tenants (Link

"....Since March 2024, Ms. Ruiz has been living.... in
Astoria, NY, 11102 where she asserted her tenancy therein multiple times to
police officers from the NYPD 114th Precinct responding to complaints
against her for threatening a disabled co-tenant at that address, Mr. Leonel
Baldizon, the principal lease-holding tenant; (EXHIBIT B); "Mr. Baldizon has been filing repeated complaints to
the NYPD 114th Precinct, of Ms. Ruiz’s escalating abuse of him and
threats to falsely report Mr. Baldizon for sexually harassing her in the
apartment, and threatening to report as well, his father to the police,
claiming she had been sexually abused by his father in the past,
according to the victim’s complaint. Despite Ms. Ruiz’s refusal to pay
her share of the rent, she asserted tenancy when police officers
responded to the victimized co-tenant’s desperate pleas to protect him
from her abuse and her deranged and fabricated threats, which included
that Mr. Baldizon had attempted to poison her dog and “trashed” their
shared premises;
Sonia Ruiz, after moving in with Baldizon in April following her
eviction from her apartment in Kew Gardens Hills, Queens, stopped paying Baldizon
her portion of the rent and expenses in May. After
Leonel Baldizon had objected to Ruiz's inappropriate
conduct in the apartment washroom he and his underage nephew shared with Ruiz,
she
falsely and maliciously accused him of sexually harassing her
and of recording "pornographic videos" of her all the while
deliberately posing in their communal space in the
apartment in a provocative state of undress in front of the young men, in an attempt
to get a reaction from the neurologically disabled Baldizon. Baldizon
eventually installed security cameras in the apartment on advice of NYPD in the
wake of multiple false accusations to police against him from Ruiz.
Sonia Ruiz, in addition to the false charges she pressed
against Leonel Baldizon of sexually harassing her, also threatened Baldizon
(in the above video)
that she will state to police that his aged father is a child molester and abused her when she was
11 years old, unless Baldizon withdraws
his court-petition to have her ordered to vacate his apartment.
In the numerous calls to the NYPD, Ruiz also accused Baldizon of attempting
to poison her Doberman dog 'Shado' and on one occasion vandalized their shared space, blaming
it on Baldizon.
Ruiz threatened to have Baldizon barred by a restraining order from his own leased
apartment. Ruiz, is a former licensed New York State Real Estate
Property Manager familiar with landlord-tenant law in New York City, and had just been evicted in April
2024 from her penthouse apartment after a long drawn-out eviction
appeal process that she managed to sustain for over two years while
harassing and menacing the building management employees and other tenants. [ Link to:

The neurologically disabled Leonel Baldizon, a decade
younger than the middle-aged Sonia Ruiz, knew her since he
was a child and looked up to, respected and trusted Ruiz as his elder 'tía'
("auntie") and occasional caregiver.
Ruiz is known to New York Police Department in the 107 Precinct as a
habitual sextortionist, filing false reports of abuse against multiples of
victims.
Sonia Ruiz was
arrested on January 8, 2024, while attempting to
file a fourth consecutive false charge against a victim in NYPD 107 Precinct. Ruiz was
charged with
Felony attempted Extortion Grand Larceny 4th
Degree & Attempted Coercion 3rd Degree, (File No.

Ruiz's recent abuse of Baldizon had been the subject of a
recent affidavit submission
in an unrelated case against Ruiz in Nassau County Superior Court, where she
leveled false defamatory counter-claims against parties in a case against
her by a financing company she has defaulted on payments to. The judge
in that case
in ruling against her, admonished Ruiz, citing unacceptable "defamatory and
prejudicial conduct. [Motion Decision] "
In an ex parte affirmation of material facts in that case in
August 2024, five
weeks prior to Ruiz successfully instigating Baldizon's wrongful
arrest on September 28, the petitioner in the unrelated case, attested:
"Ms. Ruiz has been the subject of multiple complaints from April through
August 2024 to NYPD 114th Precinct emanating from the said address, filed by
Mr. Baldizon, a neurologically disabled and recently injured construction
worker in recovery, a male ten years younger than the middle-aged Ms.
Ruiz, and old acquaintance with whom Ms. Ruiz had moved into a room in
his small apartment and is now refusing to pay rent, subjecting him to
abuse, and accusing him of sexually harassing her;
"The complainant Mr. Baldizon reported that Ms. Ruiz trashed the
apartment in his absence, and then called the police and accused him of
the destruction, after which on advice of police, Mr. Baldizon installed
a fixed video camera in their communal space and later furnished police
with the videos of her abuse;
"Ms. Ruiz has recently escalated her threats to falsely accuse the victim
of “sexually harassing” her and have him barred from his own premises,
deriding him as a “pervert” for installing the camera for his own self
protection, berating him for “constantly looking at her” and “making
pornographic videos” of her, all the while she prances about the
apartment’s communal spaces at night, stark naked below the waist,
knowingly in front of the camera maintained by the victim, and during
the daylight hours in and around the apartment’s communal spaces, in a
state of inappropriate undress in view of the circumstances of her
accusations, all the while, taunting and provoking the young disabled
man trapped in the space with her."
